Lasipalatsi Design Markets is a new event in Helsinki. It brings together up-and-coming young Finnish designers whose products are been sold mainly online or in a few shops around Finland. DIANA LUGANSKI / OSSI PIRKONEN ART EXHIBITIONS 20.7.-16.8.2010
Two Helsinki-based artists are exhibiting their work behind Lasipalatsi, the functionalist building right in the centre of Helsinki, Finland. The exhibition is FREE OF CHARGE and will be up from 20th of July to 16th of August, every hour of the day.
Diana Luganski
Diana Luganski is currently based and works in Helsinki. In general she shoots fashion, portraiture and advertising for different magazines and companies.
Diana also works with musicians and fashion designers. She has cooperated with well-known brands such as Samsung and internationally published magazines such as Citizen K, Seventeen, Computer Arts, Adobe Photoshop Advanced, Finnfashion, WtF Magazine and so on.
Her works has already been exhibited in Austria, Italy, Spain, Bulgaria and Belorus, and several more exhibitions in Europe are planned for later this year as well.
This exhibition features her latest works.
Ossi Pirkonen
Ossi Pirkonen is an illustrator based in Helsinki. He graduated from Lahti Institute of Design. At the moment, Ossi studies graphic design in the University of Art and Design Helsinki. He has a company called Magic Walrus Design. He is also one of the administrators in the largest Finnish web community for graphic designers, Pingstate.nu.
Along with his illustration work, he is interested in pop-culture, movies, books, rock music, master painters of the romantic movement, character illustration and -design and voodoo cat -statues. Ossi received a Young Creatives -prize for his final thesis for Lahti Institute of Design. He was also selected as Young Designer of the month by Design Forum Finland in 2008.
This exhibition features some of his most well known illustrations and couple of forgotten gems.
